Hi Everyone,

The office of civil rights has released the sexual misconduct prevention training for this fiscal year. Everyone that reports to me has until the end of fall break to complete it and submit their certificate. Student employees should submit their certificates on Carmen via the Prep Lab Forum<https://osu.instructure.com/courses/49925/assignments/5007053>. Staff should send their certificates to me via email.

If you see a message that says the training is not available to you, please let me know.

Best,

Tyler

Dear Colleagues,

The safety and well-being of the university community is Ohio State’s top priority and a responsibility we all own. To advance this priority, every year Ohio State requires all employees and students to complete online training focused on recognizing, preventing and reporting sexual misconduct, and on assisting those who might have experienced sexual misconduct.

As an Ohio State employee, you have been assigned an easy-to-follow, interactive module called STEP UP Against Sexual Misconduct. You can find the course in your BuckeyeLearn<https://click.t.osu.edu/?qs=ab64593dcd4e76b1f819908e2bf9ea68ddc11659ed646b5f8359ef039f5768940cbf9796332b6210b27cbfd1a76880020504d0128a04c1ef19843f6307bcff98> transcript.

Merit-eligible employees who do not complete STEP UP training by April 24, 2026, will not be eligible for annual merit increases that take effect September 2026. Student employees, graduate associates and other employees who are not classified as merit-eligible may be subject to unit-specific consequences for non-completion. Bargaining unit employees should follow their applicable collective bargaining agreements.

If at any time you are unable to complete the training (for example, if the content brings up past trauma), instructions for an alternative format can be requested here<https://click.t.osu.edu/?qs=ab64593dcd4e76b1091051e1ce77b0184c3be230dce722933f284e9251928ad0ebe6010c62ea8513e13cb72f92807a2060519dc19dfb97e937642840a9c9f10b>. All such requests must be made prior to the deadline for completion. You can also email civilrightseducation at osu.edu<mailto:civilrightseducation at osu.edu?subject=> with questions or concerns.

  * To access your module, log in to the BuckeyeLearn system at buckeyelearn.osu.edu<https://click.t.osu.edu/?qs=ab64593dcd4e76b10fee19a72aca733f032f4174dc72d81054d0b556da6c119d88ac46d64591652261c2c1a134b66a055cba47a5c0519b8dde70e5cee6475394> with your Ohio State credentials.
  * Then select the “My Transcript” button on the BuckeyeLearn homepage and click the “Launch” button.

When you have completed a course, it will move to your completed transcript in BuckeyeLearn, which you can view by changing the “Active” button on the top of your transcript to “Completed.” If the course appears on your transcript with a status of “in progress” or “registered,” the training is not complete. Revisit and complete the module or contact civilrightseducation at osu.edu<mailto:civilrightseducation at osu.edu?subject=> for assistance.
