[Preplabstudents] Waste Runs

Hi All,

I know I’ve sent a bunch of emails this week, sorry about that. I want to be sure you are kept in the loop.

Starting tomorrow, Thursday October 3rd, we will be piloting a new method of doing waste runs. Instead of scheduling a run for one type of waste on both floors, we will schedule a run for all waste on a single floor. Here’s the plan:

If scheduled for a waste run, grab a “Gen Chem Waste Run Reconnaissance Notes” sheet from the gather sheet drawer. Head up to your assigned floor and note anything that needs to be swapped out or replaced. Come back down to 130, grab the materials you need, and then complete your run. Completed sheets will be placed in the basket on the gather sheet cabinet.

Evening Waste…

The last waste run of the day should be completed prior to the window closing on the floor. Ideally, the window people should lock up all rooms at the end of the session. We can’t have labs unlocked on an unattended floor.

Waste should be dumped if there is more than 20 minutes remaining until everyone is scheduled to leave for the day. In other words, on Monday, Thursday, and Friday waste should be dumped if it’s brought downstairs prior to 6:10 pm. On Tuesday and Wednesday waste should be dumped if it's brought downstairs before 9:40 pm.
