[Preplabstudents] 8/14 Recap and 8/15 Plan

Hi Everyone!

Today

Thank you to everyone that helped with the several different tasks today! I love how much we can get done with a huge team!

As you complete training items, please record the necessary information on your blue sheet. If you missed an in-person session yesterday or today, we will try to make it up Friday. If you are not around Friday, we will plan to make it up next week.

At this point, I have entered all the in-person session attendance info into the Prep Lab Forum on Carmen. I have also given credit for any completed online items. Please check the Prep Lab Forum to see what other items you need to complete.

Tomorrow

The TAs will be in lab from 8:30-11:30. You only need to be present if you have signed up for a window shift or want to get some hours in by helping out in the lab. The window schedules are below.

Please use this time to work on remaining online training items. There are also a handful of you that still need to complete the BEAP, Lab Standard, and Fire Extinguisher modules.

Keyth

“Keyth” the Key Safe should now work for everyone. When you need a key to complete a task, you will get your key from Keyth. Operation instructions are on the front of the safe. Your initial PIN is the last 4 digits of your ID number, the short number on your BUCKID. You will be prompted to change your PIN after your first sign-in. DO NOT USE YOUR BIRTH YEAR- many of you were born in the same year… If you are returning person and your previous PIN doesn’t work, try the  last 4 digits of your ID number.

Remove a key:
1- Enter your PIN, tap enter button
2- Open the door
3- Tap desired key on screen
4- Pull on black peg to remove key
5- Slam door closed

Return a key:
1- Enter your PIN, tap enter button
2- Open door
3- Insert black peg into correct spot
4- Slam door closed

Key usage is logged automatically. The physical location of each key is tracked with an Apple AirTag. Users are responsible for the security of any keys they remove. Lost keys must be reported to Tyler immediately.

Fall Schedule

We will start following the schedule on Teams on the Tuesday school starts. You only need to be present on Monday if you want to get some hours in by helping out in the lab.
