Hi All,

Here are next week’s reminders:

Refilling

Effective immediately, we will be changing our refill policy. After a cart check, place any containers that are still full back on the shelf. Containers that are not full should be placed next to the carboy from which they should be refilled. DO NOT FILL THEM UNTIL TOLD TO DO SO BY A STAFF MEMBER.

Locking/Unlocking Labs

Please unlock all rooms assigned to be opened before starting your readiness checks. This will allow TAs to get their rooms ready while you are completing your checks. Our goal is to have rooms unlocked no later than 15 minutes before the lab start time.

Shift Replacement

Many of you have been very good about this, but please remember to try finding a replacement when you need a miss a regularly scheduled shift.

2022 Tax Forms (W-2)

It looks like these should now be available in Workday. There is a box on my homepage with a link, if that doesn’t appear for you, click on menu, select pay, then select tax documents on the right side.

Prep Lab Hours (2/7-2/10)

We will have normal hours Monday the 6th(7:30am-10:00pm). Tuesday the 7th through Friday the 10th, we will open at 7:30 am and close at 6:00 pm. Shifts outside this timeframe are cancelled. If you have time and would like to make up hours, you are welcome to drop in while we are open.

Safety

We are still working on the Department Safety Coordinator Training video. We’ll let you know when it’s ready. Dr. Moore will be making more appearances while I am out. Let’s be sure to show her we know how to properly use our PPE and work safely. If you have any safety questions please feel free to talk with her or myself.

Ankles/Lab Attire

I have been seeing some ankles lately. Please be sure your ankles are completely covered. Shoes should cover the front and the back of your foot. Leggings and other skin-tight materials are not acceptable. Things like scrub pants, jeans, and sweatpants are great options. You are permitted to leave pants in your black basket for use while you are here. Let me know if you have any questions.
