Continued Employment

I have posted a roster on the white board in the room with the microwave. Please review your listing for whether you are working in the summer and fall, indicate when you anticipate graduating, then initial in the “verified” column after making in necessary corrections. Please try to complete this no later than 5:00pm on Friday April 14th.

New Pay Scale!

We have negotiated a new pay scale with the Department. We will adopt this scheme starting this summer.

First year of employment: $12.00/hr
Second year of employment: $12.50/hr
Third year of employment: $13.00/hr
Student Leads (no additional raises): $13.00/hr

Weeks 14 & 15

We will still be holding our regularly scheduled shifts until reading day. Next week, we will clear out rooms 230, 250, and the second floor window. The following week we will be moving the entirety of the prep lab in preparation for renovation.

Spring Pizza Party

Our spring Pizza Party has been planned for April 25th at 3:00 pm in 1015 McPherson Lab. Please join us! We are usually visited by a couple of dogs!

Science Olympiad

The Ohio Science Olympiad is being held on April 29th. We will be hosting 5 events in our spaces and still need lots of volunteers to help us manage everything.

You may be thinking “what’s in it for me?!”…. The answer is tons! You are entitled to a free T-shirt, a boxed lunch (usually a sandwich, chips, and a cookie), weekend time in Celeste, and extra (Saturday) time with Tyler. There will also likely be other snacks and entertaining conversation.

Accessing the AU23 Schedule

Open your OSU email account in a web browser. Then, select the “App Launcher” icon (the icon with 9 dots in the top left).

Select Microsoft Teams from the list of available apps.

On the left side, click the “more added apps” icon.

Select Shifts.

Navigate to the first week in August. You should see several open shifts. Request the shifts you would like by selecting each 30-minute increment necessary. Each person is required to schedule a minimum of 12 hours per week with a maximum of 20. Shifts must be at least 2 hours (4 consecutive 30-minute time blocks) or longer. Other arrangements are possible but must be pre-approved by me. Note that longer shifts tend to be scheduled for the window. No promises.

Please keep in mind that little flexibility will be given for last minute call offs and permanent switches once the semester begins. So, please choose your spots carefully. Be sure to account for any second session classes you may have enrolled in.

Note that we are just using the first week of August for scheduling purposes. You will be expected to follow the Fall schedule starting August 22nd. Training will wake place the week of August 14th.
