[Preplabstudents] Week 3

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday!

We are entering a phase in which the Monday labs will be VERY out of sync with the rest of the week. This can be challenging for all of us, so please be sure to check the grand syllabus, attached and posted everywhere, to make sure you are distributing the correct materials.

1220 will be working on FPD. They will need lots of ice and salt, please keep an eye on these. Two ice coolers is a good place to start. When exchanging freezing point apparatuses for BUCK-IDs please place the ID in the slot you got the apparatus from. This will help you ensure the correct ID is returned to the student.

Monday is a university holiday. The Prep Lab will be closed, and you should not log any hours on Monday.

I still desperately need help on Friday mornings anytime between 7:30 am and noon.

There are small white carts outside of the window rooms. These are for holding the food and beverages that belong to the people in the window. Nothing other than food and beverages should be placed on these carts. Please be sure to lock any rooms that are not in use.

Please note that the daily sheet assignments will not always be consistent. I am trying to move everyone around so that we all have a chance to gain more experience with each task. Remember that when you are on the clock, your first priority should be scheduled tasks and any non-scheduled tasks requested by the staff. I always try to keep a couple of students available downstairs in case we have an unplanned absence or urgent need for assistance. Let us know if you are going to leave for a minute to get coffee/lunch etc. You do not need to tell us when you are going to the restroom.

We will be changing the room readiness checklists. More than just a checkmark will be required, see the new page for more info.
