[Preplabstudents] Fall Wrap-Up

Hi Everyone,

Please review the following updates and reminders:

Scheduling

Today is the last day we will be following the Fall 2022 schedule. Starting tomorrow, December 8th, you can stop in when you would like hours. Please be sure you have submitted all your timesheets for the semester.

If you have not yet scheduled your spring hours, please do so ASAP. I am adding our new hires to the schedule. If you are not listed on the schedule, I am not expecting you to return and need an end date if you have not provided one already. If you are on the schedule and do not plan to return, please let me know ASAP.

We desperately need more people in the mornings. Please consider adding some time in the morning or let me know if you can swap a couple shifts to the morning.

Free Food!

Tomorrow, December 8th, we will have our end of semester party in 1015 McPherson lab at 3:00 pm. This is a joint party with our friends in the Demo lab and the Gen Chem TAs. We’ve ordered lots of tiny sandwiches, cookies, salad, brownies, whoopie pies, and fruit. We will also be making liquid nitrogen ice cream and slushies. Please drop by if you have time.

Refilling Training

Effective immediately, certain items must be refilled in a hood. These include acids and bases equal to and greater than 3 M, lead nitrate, anything stored in a flammable cabinet, and select other items. Alec and I will conduct refilling training during the first week of the semester. Everyone working in the spring will be required to participate in one of these sessions.
