[Preplabstudents] Weekly Updates (trying again)

Hello Everyone,

I’m sending this email again since some folks didn’t receive it. Apologies if you received it twice.

Here are this week’s important nuggets of info:

Safety Reminders-

  *   Food and beverages are not permitted inside the windows.
  *   Gum is not permitted in the lab.
  *   Gloved hands should never touch a doorknob or elevator button. Repeated incidents will result in a discussion with me.

Policy Reminders-

  *   Per university rules, everyone (staff and students) should be taking a 30-minute break every six hours. This should be reflected in your timesheets. Let me know if you need help entering this on Workday.
  *   Headphone use is not permitted when on the clock.
  *   Be sure to wear your nametag. You should have one to keep on your lab coat, and another to wear when you are not in your lab coat.

Items for Lab Next Week-

  *   Students may come to the window to get an extra packet of Alka-Seltzer, this is ok.
  *   For BLP: in addition to the lab materials, the TAs will also need a packet of BLP lab manual pages. These are ready to go at the window.
     *   The centrifuge tubes and cuvettes needed for BLP are already on the carts- less for the TAs to carry around.

General Info-

  *   Anyone that is not planning to work in the prep lab between May 9th and August 12th needs to let me know when they plan to have their last day.
  *   Everyone must sign up for at least 6 hours during exam week. Link to sign up: go.osu.edu/finalsweek<http://go.osu.edu/finalsweek>. Only about half of you have done this.
  *   Anyone that plans to work in the prep lab over the summer needs to let me know by May 3rd.
  *   Anyone that plans to work in the prep lab in the fall needs to submit their final fall schedule at: https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8cucDqljryjr6bc. Note that this is a schedule submission, we will pick your shifts based on this info.
  *   There are no night labs the week of April 18th, but we will still be open those evenings. Therefore, the prep lab will be open from 7:30 am-6:00 pm M, R, F, and 7:30 am-9:30pm T and W that week.
  *   We will have a pizza party on April 26th (Reading Day) at noon. We ordered tons of pizza, salad, and cookies, and soda. Please join us!
