Amen. My faculty meetings went perfectly because of the care and expertise you all brought to bear on this. My students were obviously in good spirits when they joined the meeting.

Jon,

I think you, Kris and Crystal deserve a huge thanks for pulling this off so professionally and smoothly on such a short timeline. Once again you are all a strong positive force in helping us get better as a department, as researchers and as teachers.

Best,

Chris

Hi all,

I want to thank you all for all your efforts with our first (and hopefully only) virtual Open House. Overall it was a huge event to stage on such a short timescale, especially since it coincided with our first day of online courses. I have received some feedback from students who said they learned a lot, and that it went much better than other virtual open houses they attended. I think the students very much appreciated all the effort we put into it to make it work. We did have several technical glitches along the way, and I thank Kris and Crystal and ASCTech for helping to address those as quickly as they did.

Kris, Crystal, and I would appreciate hearing from people who hosted posters and faculty meetings and from grad students who interacted with prospective students through zoom and Slack, to hear how it went, and to let us know which students attended your event. If you don’t remember who the participants were in your zoom meeting, you should be able to get a list of participants by doing the following:

-log into Carmen Zoom

-select “Reports” in the left menu

-select “Usage”

-set the date range to include the meeting of interest

-on the right side of the table of meetings click on the blue number under “Participants” for the meeting of interest, and it should show you a table of participants for that meeting, which you can export.

I would like to like to especially thank the PGSC and other grad students for arranging and hosting all the student-student communications and interactions, and Crystal and Kris who worked all weekend and all day today putting together and updating the Open House program and website, while putting out many fires along the way.

Jon
