Dear all,
Prof. Robert Perry will be retiring at the end of June after 33 years of service to the Department and the University. Robert received his undergraduate degree at St. John’s College and his PhD at the University of Maryland. After a postdoc position at the University of Washington, Robert came to OSU as an Assistant Professor in 1987. He has served in numerous roles at the university, including Associate Dean, Interim Senior Associate Vice President for Research, Associate Executive Dean, and many tours of duty on the University Senate. He has served in two different Vice Chair positions within the department. It is not surprising that he won a Distinguished University Service Award in 2001. He has been recognized as an excellent teacher in the department and was awarded an Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award in 2008. He is a Fellow of both the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Please help me to congratulate Robert Perry on his retirement July 1! Unfortunately, we won’t be able to celebrate in the traditional ways. But we can thank him in emails for his long service to the Department and the University. I encourage everyone to do so!
