[ALERT} Steam Outage in PRB for Installation of Smart Meters - June 13-14 - Notice 2 of 2

[Physics facility information]

The University is planning a steam outage in the PRB beginning in the afternoon of June 13 and continuing through the afternoon of June 14th.

During this outage, steam piping will be allowed to cool overnight on the 13th followed by work on the 14th to install smart meters in the system.

Because of the duration of steam interruption, it is expected that all areas of the building may cool below normal temperatures.

The Department reminds labs to anticipate changes in temperature trending downward as the steam outage occurs.

The Department reminds occupants who are uncomfortable in cooler than setpoint office settings to bring a sweater or light jacket on Wednesday.

This is notice 2 of 2 and the final notification before the outage.

In July 2017, the university transitioned management of utilities service operations to Ohio State Energy Partners (OSEP).

This partnership included launching an unprecedented energy efficiency program.

OSU will continue this momentum with the installation of smart meters to support the university's efficiency goals.

Beginning in mid-March, and running through 2022, the utility metering project will transition all Columbus campus buildings to smart meters.
