Department External Review

    Dear all,

      As you may recall, the department is under going an external review this fall.  These reviews are mandated by the university and normally take place every 7-8 years.  Our last review took place in 2010.  As part of this review process, the department wrote a self-evaluation of its programs identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.  Work on this document took place earlier this year with much of the evaluation taking place in the departmental committees.  Final editing of the document occurred over the summer.   This document is now complete and has been shared with the ASC leadership, the Provost's office, and an external committee of experts.  The document can be accessed through the following Box link:

     The external committee will be visiting the university Sept 20-21 (Th-F) and spend Thursday meeting with stakeholders in the department.  The agenda is still being developed and I will be sharing it with you next week.  After the committee visits the department, they will produce a report with recommendations for moving the department forward.  Later in the fall, we will be reviewing their report and producing a “Plan of Action” for the Provost’s office.  Through the autumn I will be sharing updates with you as the process progresses.
