2017 Midyear touch bases - DUE 11.01.2017

Hello Physics Staff and Supervisors,

Faculty - if you do not supervise regular staff, you can disregard this email.

We are half way through the 2017/2018 performance period (04/01/2017 - 03/31/2018) and during the month of October the Office of Human Resources and College of Arts and Sciences ask that we complete Mid-Year Touch Base sessions with all department staff.  Mid-Year Touch Bases are to be conducted as a half-way checkpoint to discuss employee's progress toward performance goals, adjust them as needed, and add any new goals necessitated by early achievement or changes in employee or group objectives.

Supervisors please plan to meet with your staff (approximately 30-60 minutes) to complete the attached, one page ASC 2017-2018 Mid-Year Touch Base form. Please remember that while the form is required, the conversation should be the primary focus.

Newly hired staff members who did not complete a performance review in 2016/2017 should meet with their supervisor to complete the ASC 2017-2018 Performance Plan Form also attached to this email. This will document performance goals from their hire date through the end of the review period and will be a starting point for conversation for upcoming performance reviews.

The mid-year touch base sessions are not required for Post Doctoral Researchers but are highly encouraged.

Electronic submission of forms is greatly appreciated. Once complete, the supervisor and the employee should sign the form. Supervisors please scan and email to ASC-physics-hr at osu.edu<mailto:ASC-physics-hr at osu.edu>. I will not be routing these through DocuSign - that is only for annual reviews.

Please email completed Mid-Year Touch Base forms to ASC-physics-hr at osu.edu<mailto:ASC-physics-hr at osu.edu> no later than Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
