plans for extended leave, Martina Gutik & Kathy Royer helping with Front Office Support

News and up-date regarding Martina and the front office:


1.     Mom and baby Sara are doing well,

a.     Martina is doing so well that she is working part-time this week (while Sara is still in the NICU).

b.    Martina hours this week are ~10-12 and 2-5, Tues-Fri, Nov. 14-17.

c.     Next week she hopes to be home with Sara,

2.     Martina will be working on some special projects, cross-training with Kathy and Rachel, and misc. clean-up items.

a.     Please continue to reach-out to Jean or Rachel, if you have something for Martina. If you reach out to Martina, please include Jean and Rachel to help them stay in the loop.

3.     Front Office approvals (eRequests, eTravel, etc.) in the short term are being approved by Rachel or Jean.

a.     Kathy Royer's access was delayed, and expect she will start helping with the Front Office approvals next week.

                                          i.    Please send all urgent communications to the 3 of us (Jean Ball.1780, Rachel Schrok.73, and Kathy Royer.1)

                                         ii.    We are dividing up the Front Office approval based on workloads and availability and hope to provide a structured grid in the near future.

4.     Kathy Royer's hours are 8:30-4 Monday-Thursday.

a.     She will be working mostly with Kris this week and doing Front Office cross-training.

b.    Starting Nov. 20th she will take a more active role with approving eRequests, eTravel.

FYI, we hired Kathy Royer to help fill in while Martina is out on leave, she is a graduate from The Ohio State University with a degree in Business Administration/Marketing.  She retired from OSU in 2012 as office/fiscal manager for Center for Life Sciences Education, managing budget, payroll, and purchasing.  Kathy has actively continued to work part-time at OSU in a variety of roles, so she is well equipped to help in the front office to fill some staffing gaps.  She will be assisting Kris with Graduate items in Crystal absence for 2 weeks, then filling in to help cover during Martina's extended leave.
