[NEWS] Increased Air Flow Noise in Atrium and Office Side of PRB

Occupants may notice an increased level of air flow noise in the atrium and at locations on the office side of the PRB.

Air Handler 4 serves this area and has a failed variable frequency drive (VFD) on the supply fan that will soon be replaced.

As a temporary measure to keep air flow moving from this air handler, the unit is set in manual control bypassing the VFD; a condition wherein the unit is only able to run at full flow.

Full flow is higher than the system normally requires and the excess is the root cause of the additional air flow noise occupants may notice.

A new VFD is on order and will be installed as soon as practical.
