[NEWS] Installation of Wireless Infrastructure in PRB - Access Needed to Many Offices and Most Labs

[Physics facility information]

Beginning today, networking contractors will be installing infrastructure wiring and wireless access points throughout the building.

This work is part of a recent agreement reached between ASCTech and OCIO for support of network services that includes full wireless coverage within the PRB.

The work will begin in the basement and will proceed upward floor-by-floor.  Occupants may notice a 2-man crew with ladders working above the ceiling tiles in various hallways.

Scheduling of the contractors work is controlled by OCIO and is expected to be a 4 man-week effort but with the possibility for interruptions to other sites as needed mixed in.

The Physics Facility Team will be coordinating with occupants to gain access to many offices and nearly all labs for installation of the access points.
