We don’t know a lot more yet, but we do know that Gary’s condition remains quite serious.  It was a bad fall.

Thank you for the expressions of concern from his many friends.  We are all worried.

Dear Colleagues,

Building on an earlier note from Brian (see below), we are sad to tell you that Professor Gary Steigman fell and was injured.  He is at OSU Hospital and is in serious condition.  From what we know, he is not able to receive visitors.  We expect an update to come today, and will keep you informed.

As a first step, we will soon send flowers to him and his wife Sueli at the hospital on behalf of Physics, Astronomy, and CCAPP.  Once we know more, we will prepare an appropriate card that many can sign.

   Dear all,

    I found out this morning that Gary Steigman (emeritus prof.) was injured in a fall yesterday. He is currently at OSU Hospital.  The doctors are waiting for 24hrs before establishing a prognosis.  Please keep Gary and his family in your thoughts.  I will update you when more information becomes available.
