Matt Barber's departure from Physics

Matt Barber has applied for and taken a new position within ASC Technology Services and will be leaving Physics shortly. His position has been posted through OSU's JobsAtOSU.com webpage and we anticipate hiring his replacement to start sometime in January.

I'm sad that Matt Barber has chosen to leave his position in Physics, but I'm pleased that he will be staying with ASC Technology Services. His patience and keen mind have been a great asset to us for the last six years. His new position on the ASC Tech Infrastructure and Operations team will allow him to create and maintain the college IT services that all of us use, but will take him away from the customer service role in Physics. I hope you will join me in congratulating him in this next step in his career.

The HR posting for his replacement went up on the JobsAtOSU.com website on Saturday and will remain for two weeks (due to the Thanksgiving holiday). The selection committee includes the current IT staff assigned to Physics, as well as Tom Gramila. We plan to expedite the interview process so that we can have Matt's replacement onboard in January. As Matt transitions from his role in Physics to his role on the Infrastructure and Operations team, you may still see him, but you'll see him less. To help cover the gap until we have someone new in Physics, you'll see a bit more of me. As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
