The College of Arts and Sciences would like to encourage you to consider making a gift to the 2016 Campus Campaign.  This year's campaign slogan is Connecting the Dots and highlights how our gifts to any of the thousands of funds across the university can make a difference in the lives of others.

Today at 2:00 pm, Brutus Buckeye will make an appearance in the Atrium and he might even end up in your office, if he has time.  You can come down to the atrium and take a picture with Brutus if you wish, bring your phone or camera!

I have handed out most of the Campus Campaign packets, but many of the packets for the faculty and some staff are still in my office.  You can see me at the event to collect your packet or pick it up from your mailbox tomorrow.

The university's goal for participation this year is 41%  - at the moment Physics is at only 27%.  If you have not participated in the past, please consider a one-time gift or an on-going payroll deduction amount that is comfortable for you.  There are lots of funds within Physics that could use your support as well as funds in the college and around the entire university, including medical research.  We all benefit from the donations to the Chair's Discretionary Fund when we attend events like the Chair's Holiday Reception for faculty, the annual Winter Party and the Spring Picnic, not to mention impromptu root beer floats and popcorn.  There are several scholarship funds that benefit both undergraduate and graduate students and funds for outreach activities as well.   Feel free to contact me if you cannot find a fund you are interested in and I'll help you with the process.
