Physics Chair Appointment

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Winer as Chair of the Department of Physics effective July 1, 2016.

I would like to thank the Chair Search Committee - Susan Olesik (CBC) as chair, Amy Connolly, Phil Davids, Jay Gupta, Andy Heckler, Annika Peter and Michael Poirier - for their excellent work in handling the search process. I also wish to thank the colleagues who were willing to share their vision and plans for the future of the department.

Finally, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Jim Beatty for his many years of service as chair. The department has had numerous accomplishments and positive developments during Jim's tenure as chair.
