The Condensed Matter Experiment Seminar Series is pleased to host Professor Zhigang Shuai<http://www.shuaigroup.net/> on Thursday, August 25th at 11:30am in 1080 Smith Seminar, PRB. Learn more about Dr. Shuai's seminar topic, "Understanding Charge transport mechanisms in Organic Materials" in the attached abstract. Biosketch
Professor Zhigang Shuai received B. Sc. From Sun Yat-sen University and his Ph.D. degree from Fudan University in 1989. He worked as a postdoc and research associate in the University of Mons, Belgium, before he became a Hundred-Talent research professor in the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. Since 2008, he joined the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University as a Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor. He was elected to the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science (2008), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2009), Foreign Member of the Academia Europaea (2011) and the Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Belgium (2013). He was the recipient of the National Outstanding Young Investigator's Fund (2004), National Talent Program  of the Ministry of Personnel (2006), the Chinese Chemical Society - AkzoNobel Chemical Sciences Award (2012). His research interests focus on the development of computational methodologies for modeling functional materials. He extended the density matrix renormalization group theory for the excited state structures, light-emitting property, and nonlinear optical responses for conjugated polymers. He has published over 310 papers in peer-reviewed journals with an h-index=58.
