This summer, a new control panel was installed in the lectern in the
Smith Seminar room. This panel allows everyone to turn the projector on
and off and adjust the room lights from the lectern. It is easy to use.
On Thursday 11 August from 1:30-2:30 PM I will be in the room to
demonstrate it for anyone who wants to know how to use it. I suggest
that at least one person from each research group see this, so they can
pass it on to others. I also urge anyone who coordinates talks, meetings
or seminars in the SSR to see this. This is the first such event, I'll
probably do at least one more.
Learning to use this system only takes a couple minutes, but it might
take longer if there are a lot of people because only so many can stand
there and see the control panel at one time.
