Hi everyone,
I'm sorry for the mass email but I feel it is important to notify you of a special election affecting the city of Columbus. It is being held tomorrow, August 2nd, for Issue 1.
Issue 1 is a citizen's initiative brought forth by a grassroots group in our city, Represent Us, to bring a ward system to the Columbus city council. As of today city council is made up of 5 at-large members. This initiative would create 10 districts and each district would elect a member living in that district to city council, as well as allow 3 at-large members, with provisions allowing for the creation of more districts as Columbus grows.
This is not a partisan issue, this is an issue to increase representation in the city. Any and all citizens who live in Columbus and are registered can vote.
I strongly urge you to go to this website from a local grassroots organization:
http://www.yeswecancolumbus.org/learn_more
to learn more about the initiative, and responses to common questions.
Find your polling location here

The polls will be open tomorrow from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm.
Alex
