Good Morning:

Just a quick FYI, the College's First Annual Unneeded-Digital-Media Destruction Day is this Friday the 19th.  ASC Technology Services is funding the costs of a vendor to pick up and shred hard drives, tapes, CD/DVDs, floppies and other (including Zip disks) no longer needed digital media from all IT units in the College.  This is a great opportunity to get rid of such no longer needed digital media in a secure and proper manner that meets campus security standards.

If you have any such digital media lying around that you care to dispose of, please let your IT folks know before Friday, and we will take of it.  I know this is very short notice-we've had some scheduling difficulties with Summer, but your computer support folks already know about the shredding effort and should be participating.  If by Friday is not practical, we will probably be conducting a second such day later in the Summer.
