[ALERT] FOD Communication - Chilled Water Plant Testing

Beginning Monday, April 6 at 8:00 a.m., FOD Utilities will begin a three week trial of operating McCracken and East Chilled Water Plants as a common distribution system.

Although no impacts to building chilled water systems are expected, the manipulation of these very large circulation loops is a complex operation with some risk of unintended consequences.

Because the process cooling water (PCW) system serving the labs is dependent on the central plants for heat exchange, groups with high sensitivities to temperatures in the PCW system are encouraged to consider this trial activity in the development of their work plans and to monitor their systems during this period.
