Bucks for Charity Campaign - Make a Difference

To all Faculty, Staff and PostDocs,

Bucks for Charity is an important partnership between OSU and its surrounding community.  There are hundreds of participating organizations under this umbrella that enable us to provide support to agencies that improve people's lives, provide services to those in need and fund research in a multitude of diseases.  Each of us has a passion for something - animal welfare, the fight to find a cure for a disease that has affected the life of a loved one, an agency that provide help to us when we needed it.   Perhaps that is the place to start.

Bucks for Charity is an opportunity for faculty and staff at OSU to give back and show our community that we care. This year it is even easier than in the past.  Donating by payroll deduction through E-Pledge is now an option.  It's easy, convenient, and allows you to make your gift over a year's period of time.  Deductions for this year's pledge will begin the first pay period in January and continue through December 2015. (If you wish to make a payroll deduction using the paper form, that is also permitted - see Shelley Palmer in 1040P for a form).

One time cash and check donations must use the paper pledge form which is available by contacting Shelley.  One-time contributions must be received by December 31, 2014 to be tax deductible for 2014 filing.

So the next question is -Where do I start?  First - Decide which charities to support by viewing the Resource Guide at http://bucksforcharity.osu.edu/public/documents/2014/resource-guide.pdf  (A copy is also available at the front desk of 1040)
                                                                          Then - choose whether to make a one-time donation (see Shelley for form) or choose E-Pledge.

If you choose E-Pledge -

1)      Go to the website http://bucksforcharity.osu.edu/

2)      Click PLEDGE NOW to access the sign-on page

3)      Use your Name.#@osu.edu<mailto:Name.#@osu.edu> email address and password to access

4)      Click PLEDGE NOW to begin the process

5)      Follow the commands as instructed, clicking NEXT to proceed:

a.      Decide your pledge amount

b.      Choose up to five (5) agencies to designate donations (find codes in the Resource Guide or alphabetically listing pull down menu, or write in a different option on the OTHER AGENCY DESIGNATION space)

c.      Complete your email, acknowledgement address and notification preferences

d.      Review the information and then SUBMIT your pledge!

6)      Save the confirmation email for your records
