At approximately 3:30 am, an expansion joint in the main heating hot water piping circuit ruptured resulting in the loss of heating hot water.
With this loss of heating water, temperatures in the building have fallen and in some offices reached mid-fifties levels.
Also as a result of this heating water loss, some air handlers shut themselves down by protective circuits that prevent internal coil freezing.
FOD has been on site since shortly after the rupture occurred and is working to resolve the issues.
AHU-1 and AHU-3 are currently both online as well as four of the six main exhaust fans.
AHU-2 is currently offline because the joint rupture occurred internal to this unit and the chamber where this occurred was partially flooded.
AHU-4 is offline.
FOD reports that the replacement expansion joint is now installed and re-start of the remaining offline systems will occur early this morning.
A follow up message will be sent when systems are fully restored.
