TITLE:  Currents and Correlation Effects in Nanoscopic Quantum Networks

Abstract:  How does a current flow through a nanoscopic system? The answer to this question is not only of fundamental interest for our understanding of quantum phenomena at the nanoscale, but also of great importance for the further development of nano-electronics and the continued miniaturization of electronic devices.
In this talk, I discuss how the quantum nature of a nanoscopic network, such as a flake of graphene, an array of quantum dots, or even proteins, determines the spatial path of a current that flows through it. I will demonstrate how these current paths can be probed experimentally, and how they are affected by dephasing and correlation effects. These results open new possibilities for probing strong correlation effects out-of-equilibrium.
