Urgent need for blood donors now.

Here and now the local Central Ohio Red Cross is more than 700 blood donations short from the current need and is struggling to meet hospital requests for blood.  Unfortunately, many regular donors are reporting cold and flu symptoms making them not able to give until they are well.

Every two seconds someone needs a blood transfusion and not nearly enough people are giving.  Locally, the Red Cross needs 800 blood donors every single day to support patients at 41 area hospitals.  Right now 5 of the 8 blood types are below sufficient levels.

Please help prevent a blood emergency by giving blood during March, which is National Red Cross Month.

Who needs blood?
