To all,

It has just come to my attention that two of our emeritus faculty members have recently suffered the loss of their wives.

To all,

Bill Riley called this morning to let us know that Mary, his beloved wife of 62 years, suffered a second aneurysm last week and passed away on Saturday evening November 26 at OSU Medical Center. A memorial service will take place in the future. I will pass along the details when they are known.

Also,

Mary Jo Seyler passed on November 16. She and emeritus professor Richard Seyler had been married for nearly 47 years. Her obituary follows:

SEYLER Mary Jo Seyler, age 71, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Mary was born November 5, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas. Mary came to Ohio from Texas in 1962, and it was here where she met and married her husband, Dr. Richard Seyler on December 22, 1964. Mary is a retired professor from Ohio Wesleyan University and it was there where she had the opportunity to influence and touch countless students. Mary was also a published author, writing, Wives' Influence in Husbands' Response to Symptoms (1966) and Physical Therapy: A Study in Professional Orientations (1968). Mary is preceded in death by her parents. She will be missed by her husband, Dr. Richard Seyler; brother, Leo (Loretta) McClain; and other extended family members and dear friends. No funeral services to be held locally. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.schoedinger.com<http://www.schoedinger.com>.

Please join me in expressing the sympathy and condolences of the department of Physics to these two longtime members of the physics family.

Jim
