[NEWS] Room Access via BuckID Wireless Lock in some areas of PRB and Smith Lab.

Contractors are working in PRB and Smith Lab this week and next to install new locks on various doors.
These locks are being installed under a large College-wide project and are the new OSU standard<chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https:/policies.osu.edu/assets/policies/physical-access-mgmt-policy.pdf> lock for keyless entry applications.
Entry via these locks is by individual BuckID so any door with this lock will require a corresponding data set and programming of user BuckIDs.
Entry with brass key remains functional on any wireless lock set as the old core gets transferred to the new wireless lock set.
Occupants may notice faint burning odors which are caused by drilling into the dense wood of the doors.

The following rooms are receiving new locks under this project.

Physics Research Building: 177A, 177B, 177C, 179, 1040, 1080, 1105**, 1119, 1129, 1159, 1192M, 2135, 2185B, 4138

Smith Lab: 2046, 1077, 1094

Future locks in other locations are outside the scope of this current project and will be the responsibility of the departments/units for budget coverage.

** Installation of the new lock for the mail/parcel room 1105 is intentionally delayed pending creation of the large data set consisting of the many daily users of this room.
