Teams chat retention change as of Dec. 3 2021

Ohio State has updated retention schedules for both Microsoft Teams group and individual channel chats; this change is intended to align with University retention policies.
Note: the chat retention timeframes do NOT affect retention of data files within Teams or the Teams themselves; these do not expire.

  1.  Individual and 1:1 chats – automatic deletion after 3 years (rolling schedule)
  2.  Team group chats – automatic deletion after 10 years (rolling schedule)
