[swip] February coffee hour on 2/27: Science in Politics

Hello!


This Friday, February 27th at 4:00 pm, the Society for Women in Physics will be hosting an informal coffee hour and discussion about science in politics in the Smith Seminar Room (Physics Research Building 1080). ?In light of the recently announced appointments of climate-change deniers to head several congressional science committees, such as Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and James Inhofe, we will be discussing the appropriate role of science, and scientists, in government. From government energy policy, to space travel, to NSF funding, much is happening in the intersection of science, policy, and politics. Come by for coffee, donuts, and allergy-friendly snacks.
