Dear colleagues,
This spring’s OS-APS is meeting at Kent State on March 27-28, 2015.
The theme of the meeting is The Physics of the QCD Phase Diagram. OSU’s own Mike Lisa is one of the invited speakers, along with Berndt Mueller and Frithjof Karsch from Brookhaven and Mark Alford of Washington University. Michael Strickland, who gave our recent physics colloquium, is co-chair of the conference.
Oral and poster presentations are being accepted in the usual categories of physics research. The deadline for abstract submission is March 6, 2015. APS members can submit or withdraw abstracts for the meeting via abstracts.aps.org. For the meeting, select "2015 Annual Spring Meeting of the APS Ohio-Region Section". After you submit your abstract, you will also need to register for the event.
I have found OS-APS to be useful to students, who have a comfortable setting to practice talks, discuss there research informally during the poster session, etc. As former chair of OS-APS and a frequent attender at OS-APS meetings over about 40 years now, I think you also will find the meeting delightful to attend and the colleagues from all over the Ohio region (southern Michigan, western Pennsylvania, eastern Indiana, northern Kentucky, and of course Ohio) delightful to meet and speak with.
Please consider attending.
Regards,
Gordon
