I just want all of you to know how incredibly proud I am of the way that everyone participated in and supported GKAS today!  Dr. Erin knocked the ball out of the park with her organization of the event, including the hundreds of hours that she invested to make it run so well as well as her stand-out performance as emcee of the reception at the Shoe last night.   The other faculty who pitched in today, Drs. Claman, Hammersmith & Kumar did yeoman's work supervising and occasionally jumping into the fray to help a student out.  You residents were awesome and I had many general dentistry faculty and visitors tell me how impressed they were with the way that you guided, supported and, sometimes, bailed out the students!  Becky Sweeney was the glue that kept things running and even ran down and helped Dean Robinson sterilize instruments because we had so many patients.  Gretchen and Dorothy also played important supporting roles.  It was simply "all hands on deck"!

Dr. Joe Crowley, the ADA president, told me that this was the best GKAS day that has ever been done.  It went so well that he wants to make it the model for programs to follow.  We actually treated a significant number of children today, including crowns, pulpotomies and extractions - in addition to the exams, prophys and sealants.
