Dear Program Director,

I hope that this email finds you well.  I wanted to let you know of a unique opportunity at NYU College of Dentistry for your graduating residents and recent alumni.

The NYUCD Department of Pediatric Dentistry was recently awarded a HRSA Faculty Development and Loan Repayment Grant titled “Growing Faculty Success in Community Based Settings” (Growing Success).  The purpose of this program is to grow a diverse cohort of pediatric dental faculty who will expand dental access by engaging trainees in meaningful community based rotations.  We seek to do this by supporting qualified pediatric dentists who have a sincere interest in an academic career and community-based education.

In a nutshell, we are looking for new faculty to join our department who are passionate about community health and who are looking for support and guidance as they begin a career in dental education.

Please know that one position is a "traditional" full-time position with a 4 days per week commitment and the other is a “Clinical Educator” position with a 3 days per week commitment.  Although the salaries would differ, the benefits offered are the same. You are welcome to apply to both positions.

I think what makes Growing Success special is that in addition to an attractive loan repayment program, there is also structured faculty development, opportunities to develop and publish their work, and carved out time to grow new skills and build a portfolio that will position them for a successful career.
