Congratulations on your selection as one of the three recipients of the 2017-2018 Sunstar Research Fellowship Awards for your research: Microbial Pioneers - Acquisition and Establishment of the Subgingival Microbiome!



All finalists will be announced at the General Assembly on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 9:30 am in Washington, DC. We request your presence for this announcement, which will be held at the Gaylord National Convention Center and Resort.



The fellowship will commence July 1, 2017. Below is an outline of your award:



First installment to be issued on July 1, 2017

•         $4,000 for Supplies

•         $750 towards the stipend

•         $1,000 forwarded to your institution (please notify your institution’s finance office about this payment)



Second installment to be issued in January of 2018

$750 towards stipend



Additional award

Up to $1,000 to cover air travel and hotel expenses to AAPD 2018 in Honolulu, HI.



Please understand that as a condition of accepting this fellowship, you are obligated to complete your research and report the results of the project as an oral presentation at the AAPD 2018 Annual Session in Honolulu, HI. Fellows also must submit a manuscript suitable for publication in a refereed journal by June 1, 2018. This manuscript may be independently submitted by the author for consideration to be published in Pediatric Dentistry, (the official publication for the AAPD), however, publication is not guaranteed.
