Dear Students, Staff, and Faculty,
I am pleased to share with you the news that Erin Gross, DDS, PhD, MS, an Assistant Professor-Clinical in our Division of Pediatric Dentistry, assumed a new position as the Director of Pediatric Dentistry for our College of Dentistry, effective August 1st.
Dr. Gross graduated from our combined DDS-PhD degree program in 2009, after which she earned a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and a pediatric dentistry certificate. Following graduation, she served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at New York University. She returned to Ohio and joined our faculty in 2013.
Throughout the past four years, Dr. Gross has made substantive contributions to our college's education and service missions as a clinician who provides care for pediatric patients; as an advisor for pediatric dentistry residents; and as the faculty leader for our bi-annual Give Kids a Smile events. A board certified pediatric dentist, she is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
As our college's Director of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Gross's duties include managing the pre-doctoral didactic and clinical curricula; creating a patient recruitment plan to enhance students' clinical experiences; and preparing materials for the college's 2020 accreditation site visit.
I look forward to Dr. Gross's contributions in her new role. The depth and breadth of her knowledge and expertise will provide the support that is needed to continue the success of our pediatric dentistry program, while also enhancing and expanding its achievements.
