Hi all. This is a reminder to register for the next webinar in the Eastern Viticulture and Enology Forum (EVEF) series, "Addressing Climate Change Challenges through Vineyard Management Strategies."
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. It is free, but you must register to receive the login info. The registration link is below.
Whether you call it climate change or just think of it as the vagaries of growing grapes in the Mid-Atlantic, we all are aware of the variables and dynamic weather patterns that challenge annual vineyard management strategies. What "worked" during one season may not be as effective in another season as weather patterns differ. Record minimum winter temperatures, late frosts, extended droughts, and hurricanes (to name a few) all threaten vineyard productivity and quality potential.
The webinar will review weather patterns across several growing regions and new and updated crop insurance options for commercial grape growers, and grower panelists will discuss their approaches to mitigating the effects of variable weather patterns through vineyard management strategies.
