[OACRAO] Census/Freeze Date

Happy Friday!
Currently, we run census/freeze reports on Tuesday of the third full week of the semester (we have a Thursday start). There is discussion about changing that date. Are there state and/or federal guidelines on when we should capture our enrollment data that we need to consider during these discussions? I have also thought census was intended to be shortly after add/drop ended but perhaps that is just standard practice rather than a mandate. I have not been successful in finding any such regulations or recommendations.

Even if you do not have insight into any relevant regulations, I would be interested to know how your institution determines census dates.
