[OACRAO] Transfer Evaluation of Pass/No Pass grading options

Looking for feedback or chatter on the impact of creating a Pass/No Pass
option for students to volunteer into essentially saving their academic GPA
during the COVID transition period. We, like many other schools, did not
want students continually flipping these grades back and forth to what
suited them at the time. Also Advisors were diligent in warning of the
impact by opting into this policy. However, students still wanted to save
their GPA including those who wanted to protect their high GPA. The result
is that transferable grades were changed to grades that would protect the
GPA but may not transfer (depending on the institution). It seems that each
institution has a variance on this policy like:
P (pass) = D or higher / NP (no pass) = F
HP (high pass) = C or higher / P (pass) = D / NP (no pass) = F
P (pass) = C or higher / LP (low pass) = D / NP (no pass) = F
The following questions are areas of feedback we are looking for as we move
forward with various student requests or situations:

   1. Would you transfer a course that was passed but changed by this
   policy with documentation that proved the original grade earned was C or
   higher?
   2. Would you provide official documentation to an institution by student
   request to assist in the transfer process?
   3. Would you allow an appeal by the student to revert the grade back to
   its original earned status?
   4. How would you handle the overall situation of a student wanting to
   keep the Pass/No Pass option for GPA purposes, yet wants the course to be
   transferable?

Any and all constructive feedback is appreciated as we continue to best
serve our students.
