[OACRAO] Dropout List for Military

I would think that because they are no longer students, their info, largely is not able to be distributed. Requests are typically relating to a specific semester/term. We have never received a request such as that.

I also went on to the AACRAO website, and found their Solomon Amendment materials. Here is the link.

Specifically, in the brochure, page 3, under "Other No-Nos:

Other No-Nos:
Veteran Status
Students no longer enrolled (drop-out or stop-out [i.e., not permanently dropped out] students)

This information is not identified under the Solomon Amendment as student recruiting information. And the Solomon Amendment provides that students included in student lists must be currently enrolled for at least one credit.

I imagine that AACRAO has pretty reliable information, and this is what I've relied upon in large part. That also seems pretty clear to me, if that is what the text of the amendment states as well.

I’ve never been approached with that from a Records Specialist (Support Staff) point of contact- I honestly think that would be a confidentiality issue to release that (PII) Personal Identification Information.

We have been asked by a recruiter from a branch of the military for our dropout list with the student's name, phone number, home address, email and date of birth.  Can the military ask for an institution's dropout list?  If so, do any of you supply this sort of list?  Thank you for your input!
