We are a community college and hand the diploma cover along with a congratulations letter signed by the president. Both one-year certificate and associate degree students may participate in commencement.

We are a 2-yr college and in addition to associate degrees, we also have one-year certificates that students can earn either along with their 2-yr degree or just on their own. 1.       For institutions that do not hand out the actual diplomas at commencement, what is given to students (if anything) as they cross the stage?

2.       For institutions who award one-year certificates, if a student has only earned a certificate are they allowed to participate in commencement ceremony?

a.       If so, is their certificate handed to them as they cross the stage?

                                                               i.      If no, what is given as the student crosses the stage?
