[OACRAO] Linked sections

Good Morning!

Our CAO is wanting to implement linked sections the he learned about after visiting a College in Amarillo, Texas.  I was wondering if any of your institutions have worked with linked sections. With linked sections, students take both sections and must remain in both or withdraw from both. The faculty teaching these sections integrate assignments, etc. Linked sections provide a cohort type of experience for students.

The two courses they are wanting to link is English Composition 1 and Sociology? Which, one problem I have is these two courses (together) are not offered in all our Academic Program Curriculum Grids, only our AA/AS degrees, which is a FA problem.

If you institution has done this, what SIS do you have and also how did your financial aid department handle this, how did you market it?
Also was this a limited enrolled section? Our SIS is Powercampus and I am not able to set-it up like a co-req model because I cannot link sections only courses.
