Hello all,

In the Fall of 2013, Miami University adopted a 14 week + 1 week of finals
for a total of *15 weeks of instruction* semester. This was done primarily
to accommodate a winter term that would eventually be 4 weeks in length.
Minutes for the more common 3 credit hour base changed from 50 to 55
minutes three days a week and 75 to 80 minutes for two days a week.

The basis for the Instructional Minutes Requirements chart located on the
University Registrar's website  here
<http://miamioh.edu/emss/offices/registrar/class-schedule-development/instructional-minute-requirements/index.html>
are
the ODHE guidelines.

*ODHE guidelines per each academic credit hour...2,250 minutes or 37.5
hours per credit hour:*

   - lecture: 37.5 hours is 12.5 hours in class, 25 hours out of class (1:2
   ratio)
   - lab: 37.5 hours is 25 hours in class, 12.5 hours out of class (2:1
   ratio)
   - studio/clinical: 37.5 hours is all 37.5 hours in class, zero out of
   class (3:0 ratio)
