We have our students fill out emergency contact information at the time of orientation, as a backup colleague will not let the students register if information is missing.

OACRAO Colleagues -

We are reviewing some of our practices regarding how we collect emergency contact information for our students and would like to find out how other schools do this.  Do you collect emergency contact information on the admission application?  Or, is it perhaps collected at the time of orientation or registration?  Do you require students to provide emergency contact information or it is optional?  If it is required, is it required only for students living on campus or for all students?
