At UI&U, students with international transcripts are responsible for obtaining a course-by-course evaluation of their transcripts. We require that evaluations of international credits be performed by an organization belonging to the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE), or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Fees vary by the type of evaluation requested (high school, bachelor’s, master’s, etc.) from approximately $150 to $280. Turnaround time for the evaluation is generally two to four weeks.

I’ve seen plenty of these evaluations and they’re pretty self-explanatory.  I have never had reason to not accept any of their course recommendations.
You may want to emphasize to the student that they should request a course-by-course evaluation, not a simple translation, which is a service that most of the above member organizations also provide.  We’ve had a few students waste their money by misunderstanding this distinction.
