[MES Forum] Many Middle Easts: Looking Backward, Looking Forward

[McClimans, Melinda]

MES Forum Members,

As members of this community all of us do our part to move Middle East Studies forward and create a welcoming campus environment for anyone curious about the Middle East. We appreciate your time, ideas, expertise, mentoring, classroom partnerships, public scholarship, community-building for Middle East Studies and linkages to Middle East institutions, and all you have contributed to MESC this amazing community.

A week from tomorrow, we will show you how the Middle East Studies and our broader community of scholars are making an impact across academic, public, and youth audiences. At the next forum, Many Middle Easts, Looking Backward, Looking Forward<https://mesc.osu.edu/events/many-middle-easts-looking-backward-looking-forward>, we will share takeaways from our recent Title VI proposal, highlights from the youth program, Seeds of Middle Eastern Culture<https://mesc.osu.edu/seeds-of-middle-east-culture>, and results from the Multi-ethnic Cultural Reproductions in the Middle East (MCRME<https://u.osu.edu/mcrme/>) project.

We look forward to sharing concrete ways you and others can contribute — from mentoring students and reviewing materials to facilitating games and simulations, sharing stories, supporting public scholarship, and helping shape future programming.

Join us at 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 29th<https://mesc.osu.edu/events/many-middle-easts-looking-backward-looking-forward> <https://mesc.osu.edu/events/many-middle-easts-looking-backward-looking-forward> in room 142 of Enarson Classroom Building to celebrate our accomplishments and look towards a hopeful future together!

Please rsvp<https://mesc.osu.edu/form/2026-09-29-rsvp-for-mes-forum-lo> as seats are limited. All are welcome!! Thank you!

Best wishes,

The Middle East Studies Center Team
