Internationally acclaimed artist Walid Raad returns to the Wex for a presentation on his groundbreaking practice that spans photography, video, installation, and performance.

Learn about Raad’s interdisciplinary approach to challenging traditional ways of storytelling and historical documentation. Through his celebrated work—the subject of exhibitions at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, and Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, among other venues—he examines how we come to trust photographic and video documents, what roles memory and narrative play in times of conflict, and how art histories are created in the Arab world. He also explores the rapid growth of museums, galleries, and art fairs there alongside the political and military conflicts that have shaped the region.
