We are delighted to congratulate Professor Emerita Jane Hathaway (History), for her national recognition with the Annual Mentoring Award from the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) 2025, conferred at a large ceremony in Washington DC this past week. Prof. Hathaway has been a longtime member and supporter of our Middle East Studies Center, and we know well locally the tremendous support she has provided for her students and junior colleagues. Her impact on the discipline of Ottoman Studies is known widely for her scholarship and now recognized nationally also for her mentorship.
